Accident update -

The State Trooper who responded to our accident came back on duty today and called me. Come to find that the person who hit us was (1) intoxicated; (2) driving without a license and (3) an illegal alien! Oh, and it was not even his car. Will find out tomorrow of said car was properly insured....

Since this blog is supposed to be about knitting and other crafty things, I am pleased to report that my Omar bag (see photo insert) and 2 current projects made it back home intact, as did 2 FO's (my green top-down cardi and the shawlette made with yarn from The Mannings) that had gone along for the ride. The patterns for the 2 WIPS did not fare so well, but fortunately I was only toting around working copies of them. I think there were some other knitting papers in there too, but can't remember what.

Okay, so now I'm worried that there are hundreds of drunk, unlicensed, illegal aliens driving around. A friends daughter was rear-ended by someone fitting exactly that profile last year. Luckily they had just dropped off 2 of the 4 people in the car as the damage was so bad that the people in the rear would have been in very rough shape if they made it. In their case the person had lost their license because of numerous incidents like this, they were given bail and (DUH) didn't show up for the hearing.

Yes Mary, there are at least 100s of unlicensed illegals driving around, just here in Virginia...

Ugh. You -plural- just feel better and hopefully, there will be some justice and even retribution.

I'm so sorry this had to happen to you, especially this time of year, but thank God you're all relatively well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that there is insurance involved, so you don't have that nightmare to deal with too!

Finally able to start catching up on what I've missed in blogland and I discovered you had been in an accident. I'm so glad you're okay but gee, you couldn't have been hit by a worse person. We had enough problems when some dumb girl who had let her insurance expire pulled out in front of Daddy Dawg a few years ago. I can imagine the problems you're having with the person who hit you. I hope it's all working out okay.
